Ladies and gentlemen, It is my great pleasure to introduce to you today the Belt and Road Initiative, also known as the One Belt One Road or OBOR. The Belt and Road Initiative is a development strategy proposed by the Chinese government in 2013. It aims to promote economic cooperation and connectivity among countries along the ancient Silk Road routes, as well as the Maritime Silk Road. The initiative consists of two main components: the land-based Silk Road Economic Belt and the ocean-based 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. The land-based Silk Road Economic Belt connects China with Central Asia, Russia, and Europe, while the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road connects China with Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The Belt and Road Initiative is not just about building infrastructure, but also about promoting trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges. It is a win-win cooperation that benefits all participating countries. Since its launch, the Belt and Road Initiative has gained support from more than 100 countries and international organizations. It has also achieved remarkable progress in various fields, such as transportation, energy, telecommunications, and finance. For example, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which is a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative, has created thousands of jobs and boosted economic growth in Pakistan. The Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway, which is another key project, has greatly improved transportation efficiency and reduced logistics costs in Kenya. In conclusion, the Belt and Road Initiative is a visionary and ambitious plan that aims to promote regional and global development. It is a platform for cooperation, not a tool for geopolitical competition. We welcome all countries to join us in building a brighter future for all. Thank you.
